Operation of the ringing of the minutes
Any typos are as a result of direct translation of the original French.
Operation
The part of the minutes is maintained and brought back by a hook (39) and its
spring, screwed on the part of the quarters acting on a sector with 7 teeth.
A toothed segment of 14 teeth is used to make sound the minutes via the
lifting of the minutes (41).
The latter is adjusted freely on the same axis as the lifting of the quarters of
the small hammer.
During the release and release of the part of the quarters, the part of the
minutes under the impulse of its spring, also fall.
When the back of the hook of the minutes meets the bridge of toothed rack (42
lower image), it raises and releases the part of the minutes which continues its
race until the contact of the level corresponding of the snail of the minutes.
During release, all the parts are resting against their snail.
The rocket by its spring of barrel, actuates in its rotation initially the
ratchet of the hours which makes sound the number of hours according to the
position of the snail. 
When the last hour sounded, the finger trainer of the part of the quarters
pushes the pin driven out on the pinion trainer and makes go up the part of the
quarters which as many raises alternatively the two liftings time as necessary.
As soon as after, the hook involves the part of the minutes which, in its turn
will make sound the number of the minutes determined by the position of the
snail.

catch with the pin and the hook which pushes the part of the minutes)
Under the wheel of the minutes the snail of the minutes (44) is screwed.
The formed surprise (45) of 4 branches is adjusted freely on the tigeron
roadway, under the snail of the minutes. 
It has a rotary movement equal to two levels of the minutes, movement limited
by a pin
driven out in the snail of the minutes and which crosses the surprise in a hole.
Under the surprise the snail of the quarters is screwed (46) which carries
the pin charged to advance star of a tooth every hour. the surprise has as a
function to lengthen just after the change of the quarters and during the first
minute, the level 0 minute of the snail.
Operation of the saltire of the quarters with the surprise
During the release of the ringing, a few seconds before the
change of a quarter, the feeler of the minutes (48) is engaged inside the snail
of the minutes.
During the course of the ringing, the continuous wheel of the
minutes to turn and the feeler of the minutes remain committed.
To prevent that the 0 minute level comes to butt against the
feeler, this level is strongly decreased.
To restore it at the time of the jump of the quarters to the end
of the first minute, the saltire of the quarters (49)pousse the surprise ahead,
restoring level zero.
